ARTIST'S STATEMENT

I reside in Sunnyvale California, maintain a studio and work full time as a Sculptor.

My current sculptures are carved directly and can be viewed from many points of view. Some are whimsical, some are serious, some are experimental, exploring form, shadow, light and space relationships.

I have been using recycled woods and plywood in the latest work, and utilize the natural color of the material. The work is finished using several coats of Tung oil and wax.

Light and dark areas are an important aspects of the work as the light strikes the pieces, the perspective can change giving different appearance to the pieces.

I graduated from The College Of Notre Dame with a B.F.A.. I worked in local industry doing sign and graphic work, while pursuing my interest in sculpture and painting. In 1998 I left the industrial environment, in favor of the studio.
